Nation Song Contest 29 was the 29th edition of the Nation Song Contest and was hosted in Los Helenas, Noizeland after their first win with Mega Mindy in NSC 28. The contest was held in October 2008 and so the theme of the contest was "The Nightmare Before NSC", much like Halloween. The contest was won by Scorpionia's Lara Fabian and 58 countries entered, which was a record until all 60 countries entered the next edition. However, the contest still holds the record for most voters in the final, as all 58 countries voted.

Phinechendza was a nation on the Northern Continent which entered the Nation Song Contest between NSC 5 and NSC 10. Known for sending several very famous songs, Phinechendza was overall quite successful in the results, most notably finishing 2nd on their debut in NSC 5.

Phinechendza intended to enter NSC 11, but were removed because of a scandal involving Romeria and Astoria that came to light at the same time, leading to the nation being permanently banned from the whole contest.

• Both Canedonia and Lyapunovia are expected to co-host Nation Song Contest 40 for the second time in NSC's history.
• Canedonia marks its second participation with a win, triumphing in the 39th edition of the Nation Song Contest. It gained 168 points, just one point above second placed Lyapunovia.
• Bokia had a great moment in NSC winning NSC 38, as a crowd of excited NSCers bit their nails in anticipation as the results were revealed. Debutante Zaprya had an impressive debut, finishing as the runner up.
• Reym-L-Dneurb, the nation who waited longest for a win, is victorious at NSC 37.
• Discussions are currently being held on how to improve the system of NSC.
